Classes are held every evening, Saturdays excepted. They usually begin between 5 p. m. and 6 p. m. and end not later than 10 p.m. Provisional Time Tables are attached,

4. Conditions of Admission: The Classes are open to students of 15 years of age upwards; applicants under 17 years of age must produce satisfactory references.

Students in attendance at a School will not be admitted ex- cept with the approval of the Principal of that School.

Female students are admitted to certain of the Classes, under certain restrictions.

Applications for admission must be made on printed forms, and signed by the applicant These forms can be obtained on ap- plication to the Education Department. (See Section 8.)

It is specially requested that any change of address be at once notified to the Director.

Lectures will commence on Friday, 4th October.

Admission at any time after the first fortnight of each Term will be permitted only on condition that the student's entrance will not hinder the progress of the members of the Class he pro- poses to join.

5. Discipline:-Strict punctuality and regular attendance are expected. If a student absents himself for two weeks without permission, his name may be removed from the Register.

In case of illness, or other cause of non-attendance, a letter should be sent to the Class Lecturer,

Smoking on the premises is strictly prohibited.

6. Books and Apparatus: Each student should provide himself with the Text Books, Instruments, Apparatus, etc., recom- mended by the Lecturer of the class he attends.

7. Homework:-The Homework set by the Lecturers is an essential part of the work. No student can possibly complete the Session's work unless considerable time is devoted to prepa- ration at home. At the Annual Examination in Building Con-

struction and Machine Drawing credit is given for drawings exe- cuted at home.

8 Fees:-Unless otherwise stated, a Fee of $10 a Term is charged for each subject.

The Fee for the Vernacular Teacher's Class is $1 a Term.

Before attending a Class the student should fill up an Entry Form and hand it, with the Fee, to the Technical Institute Clerk at the Education Offices, Fire Brigade Station Building, not later than 3 p. m.

He will then receive a Voucher, which is to be handed to the Lecturer of the Class he proposes to join, and which will entitle him to admission.

A printed Receipt, signed by the Director, will be forwarded to him later.

No Fees can be accepted otherwise than as above.

No student can be admitted to a Class unless he presents a Voucher to the Lecturer.

Note: In the case of the withdrawal of a student from the Ins- titute during the Session, no claim to a return of fees can be entertained.

There is no kegistration Fee or Apparatus Fee.

Government Servants attending Classes as below on the re- commendation of the Heads of their respective Departments, may have their Class Fees returned on passing the Examination held at the end of the Session:-

Translation Classes.

Building Construction Classes.

Field Surveying Classes.

Sanitation Class.

Teachers' Classes.

Physical Training Classes.

Electricity Classes.

Nautical Class.

"Efficient” Members of the St. John Ambulance Brigade and also Girl Guide Officers (if recommended by the Secretary of the “Girl Guides Association") may attend any Class on payment of half the usual Fee, and the Fee so paid may be returned on their passing the Examination held at the end of the Session.
